OUR VALUES

Boldness. We are fearless in empowering and supporting all who identify as women or girls.

Equity. We recognize that not all who identify as women or girls start from the same place, and we address the imbalance of opportunities available to them.

Intersectionality. We see and affirm women and girls in their interconnected identities and center the voices of those experiencing overlapping and concurrent forms of inequity and oppression.

Collaboration. We are stronger together. We work in partnership with people and organizations to ensure all who identify as women and girls and their communities thrive.

Effectiveness and Sustainability. We effectively steward our resources to produce impactful and sustainable outcomes, while building a strong future for our organization.

OUR HISTORY

We cannot chart a path forward without understanding our past and present.

Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, a special interest fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation, was founded in 1996 by Dr. Diane Brashear and a diverse group of committed and community-focused women. Their aim—to ensure that ours is a community where women and girls can thrive.

For nearly 30 years, Women’s Fund has executed its mission by granting money to women- and girl-serving not-for-profits and programs doing impactful work in the eight-county Central Indiana community. The organization has focused its work on priority areas, including caregiving, economic mobility, issues impacting girls, and intimate partner violence; while further supporting the community through initiatives including OPTIONS, GO: Give Back, and Executive Women of Color Leadership Program.
