Women's Fund of Central IndianaIt’s who we are
Our Mission
Women’s Fund answers the call of community by investing in systems change, advocating for women’s rights, and building collective power for women and girls.
Since 1996
Our investments have improved the lives of women and girls
Our vision
We envision an Indiana where all who identify as women and girls exercise full power to decide how to live their lives.
Women’s Fund is a special interest fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation. As a 501(c)3, we accept charitable donations designated to the endowment or operating fund.
OUR STRATEGIC PLAN
Women’s Fund will move forward with boldness, innovation, and inclusivity – always powered by community voice. We will be fearless in defense of women and girls and unafraid to walk new paths and adapt to evolving times, while never forgetting the strong foundation laid by Dr. Diane Brashear and our Founding Mothers nearly 30 years ago. And we will honor the enduring impact of legacy program like OPTIONS and GO: Give Back, and our annual Power of Women event.
This is your women’s fund. Our work is impossible without you.
We hope you will review and consider this three-year strategic plan. And accept our invitation to join us – investing your work, wealth, and wisdom in Women’s Fund’s vision to make central Indiana a place where all who identify as women and girls can truly thrive.
OUR HISTORY
We cannot chart a path forward without understanding our past and present.
Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, a special interest fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation, was founded in 1996 by Dr. Diane Brashear and a diverse group of committed and community-focused women. Their aim—to ensure that ours is a community where women and girls can thrive.
For nearly 30 years, Women’s Fund has executed its mission by granting money to women- and girl-serving not-for-profits and programs doing impactful work in the eight-county Central Indiana community. The organization has focused its work on priority areas, including health for women and girls, personal safety and intimate partner violence, economic mobility, and issues impacting girls; while further supporting the community through its initiatives.
