Melissa Proffitt Reese
PARTNER, ICE MILLER LLP
Melissa Proffitt Reese co-chairs the Partners Committee and is a partner at Ice Miller, chairs the agribusiness initiative, is co-chair of the Employee Benefits Practice Group, and is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Melissa is an accomplished attorney and community leader. Melissa also participates on the boards of many community organizations and volunteers her time for causes supporting diversity and women's issues.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from Indiana University-Bloomington, where she was the recipient of a merit scholarship and consistently made the Dean's List, graduating in 1982. She received her juris doctorate in 1985 from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis, cum laude. Melissa is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, and Alpha Lambda Delta honorary fraternities.
Melissa's recent community involvement includes: 2009 Program Chair, Leadership United - the United Way Executive Women's Leadership Program; Secretary and Executive Committee Member, Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee Executive Committee; STAR Financial Bank Board of Directors and STAR Audit Committee; Children's Museum Board of Trustees; Indianapolis Sister City Committee; Board Member and President of the Board of Directors, Woodstock County Club; US Chamber of Commerce Employee Benefits Committee; and Member of the Indiana Chamber Board of Directors.
